Torhaus am Moehnesee in Mohnesee

Very nice place to go for a walk by the lake .. Today the sun was out ... simply wonderful, I can only recommend it. Take a breath despite Corona! Wasn't too full either 😊👍👍

Good parking lot to get directly to the many hiking trails at the Möhnesee. Always packed in summer but beautiful in winter. There is also a restaurant and a french fries stand

What a nice atmosphere inside that restaurant! I loved it. The food was also really good and tasty, I like the way they combine tradition and creativity! In addition you can go a little walk at the garden, which is beautyfull with these sculptures and flowers.

Rarely seen such a beautiful restaurant / hotel. The decoration was chosen with a lot of love. The sculpture garden is also beautiful. The staff is quick and very friendly. The cake and the food are good value for money and it just tastes good. I always enjoy going there. A visit is always worthwhile.

Very nice hotel restaurant. I haven't stayed there yet, but I've been to the restaurant several times. The food is recommendable. In summer it is very busy there when the weather is nice. The Torhaus is an ideal starting point for hikes on the Möhnesee.

It's been a little longer since we visited the gatehouse, but the memory is all the more beautiful. We have seldom visited a restaurant decorated with such attention to detail. Mega beautiful and the oversized pieces of cake topoen the whole thing. Highly recommended 🤩🤩🤩

A place to feel good. The loving decoration in the restaurant and outside in the beautiful garden with old trees 🌳 makes you want to come back at any time of the year 🌺🍁⛄️. And there is always something new to discover. The gatehouse is just beautiful and super cozy! The food tastes delicious - my favorite is the forest and meadow salad and the tomato soup with vermouth 😋

Excellent menu, great staff and great ambience. So 5 stars are at least what I can give. Were there at the weekend only to eat cake and went back again on Sunday for lunch. Top service, top performance at reasonable prices, keep it up. We would love to come back

We went to the gatehouse for coffee with friends for the first time. The cake and the coffee were very good. The service was nice and the ambience was exceptionally nice.

Quaint, cozy gastronomy with a large outdoor area and a really creative park with old trees. In my opinion, a clear, great selection of cakes: homemade country-style cakes (large diameter). However, the pieces are cut so narrow that they do not or hardly stop and are therefore quite small. Coffee in a large cup - wonderful. I can't judge the food, but it looked really good.

Super nice historical building with many different outdoor spaces like in your own garden. Indoor seats also very nice, but a bit dark. Very nice large pieces of cakes, pies and tasty cappuccino. Unfortunately, due to overcrowding, we couldn't get any more space in the garden on Sunday afternoon without waiting long.

Nice ambience. The staff partly a bit rustic, which could be due to the high number of visitors. Food (vegetarian tagliatelle) and drinks very tasty. To recommend.

Great atmosphere, manageable menu, but something for everyone. The food was excellent in taste and the prices were completely human! You should definitely reserve a table in advance. Tip: come 30 minutes earlier and discover the in-house park with various works of art. The journey is definitely worth it!

A house with a great tradition. A house like this will not lose in the times of the corona pandemic. I was here on Sunday with my wife, who is regenerating in a rehab clinic after an operation. Impaired walking with walking aids and very unsafe !! The toilet led 15 STEPS into the basement. Handicapped friendly? Definitely not. Such a gold mine - this restaurant must be able to set up a sanitary facility on the ground floor. At the end of the stairs in the basement, a figure grins at you and apparently asks for a gift .....

A great atmosphere. You can go for a wonderful walk in the adjoining garden. The food in the gatehouse is highly recommended. If you haven't been there, you've missed something. The staff is very friendly, but some of the waitresses are simply overwhelmed. Otherwise everything is easy!

Very nice location. For a short coffee break, or a delicious lunch or dinner, it is really very nice and well located. Really large pieces of cake with delicious coffee. The snacks and other dishes are also plentiful and tasty. There is a very remarkable sculpture exhibition in the garden. It really takes a lot of time to see everything.

We were here for the first time today, on recommendation. We really liked the atmosphere and the ambience of the cafe in the garden! The service was friendly and the hygiene regulations were exemplary. We liked the waffle and the coffee. Next time we'll order a large piece of homemade cake. The selection looked delicious. We can only recommend this restaurant / cafe. A visit is definitely worth it! 😊

This cafe / restaurant was recommended to us by every local we met. The lunch menu was big enough and extremely tasty. Then there was a huge piece of cake that tasted very good too. The garden area is nicely laid out and you can sit in the shade. There is sufficient parking space for bicycles.

Delicious surprise on our way to the lake. Tasty and fresh food. Clean and cozy ambiance. Friendly staff. Enjoy it very much. We ordered a Saltimbocca and the house salad.

Here we got an excellent meal and a very tasty cake. The ambience is very cozy and invites you to linger. The garden was brought to life with interesting sculptures. A reservation is advisable. If you want to experience a successful day, this is the place for you.

Cozy place to have a cake and coffee after nice walk around Möhnesee. Always crowded and you have to find the available sits yourself.

The place to go when you want to have a great experience around mohnesee. Very friendly staff, traditional german food but perfectly made, relatively fast service even when packed, reasonable prices, and a very beautifull and cosy location. Seating is available both inside and outside, outside seating surrounded by nature. Very clean toilets, a park next to it,... I could go on and on. Definitely a must visit!

It's a beautifully decorated restaurant with ok food but the waiters will not warn you if they don't serve options on the menu after a certain time. You need to make sure you ask about desert from the beginning. Otherwise the chef leaves early and there is noone licenced to torch your creme brulee. ;)

Nice terrace between trees, very good, affordable and varied food and a cozy restaurant.

Quite long wait times to be served (we were there at 12 noon on a Sunday). They were quite busy and the staff seemed visibly stressed. Food was ok but nothing amazing.

This is a very nice coffee place and Restaurant, plenty available parking spaces, if you arrive early, weekends it is very busy. Inside it is nicely decorated, outside as well with a little park full of different things to explore, food is plenty and value for your money. Staff is very helpful. Worth a visit....
